| It's not about a local event, although questions feels to me relevant to the most advanced and computer literate audience in the world — people living in the Bay Area: Do you keep track of the movies you watched (I mean besides the netflix queue which you could request to be sent to your email), going to watch or own copies in dvd/files/whatever else format? Did you ever find yourself in the situation that the movie you just started watching isn't really new for you — it's something you already saw, but forgot the title since then? I do forget the titles often. Friends of mine created as a side project a list service to keep track of these things, and looking for real-world people's experience to figure out where to move their site next. Not showing the name of their service here (trying to avoid any advertising), but they'd really appreciate your answers to a short questionarie. Please, help if you can. | |

| Hopefully no one has already discussed this but it's a problem that I've been having for quite some time. On the days when I'm far too lazy to actually start typing out an update,I like to look over the past stories I've written on both Fictionpress and Fanfiction.net. What I've noticed is this pattern of incomplete stories that I promised myself I would go back and finish but never actually did. My question is: Is it wrong to completely drop a story or should all stories be completed despite the lack of interest?
I have one little "gem" that is turning four years old in a few months and I'm feeling kind of uncomfortable with it not being finished. Sure,I'm not interested in it and its based off an anime I don't believe in anymore but should I finish it regardless? It's still my baby but I have other babies that I love more. - Mood:annoyed

| Hi everyone!
I'm pretty new to fictionpress.com and I'm trying to figure out if there might be some other way to find a beta reader. I've tried and tried to contact the mods about the apparent broken link on the beta reader search option but there seems to be no response. Is there anyone here who can help me?

| Hi all,
I was hoping you could provide me with markets/vendors in Berkeley that have sustainable grass-fed beef. I live in the gourmet ghetto, but within walking distance to Monterey Market. I don't eat much meat, which means that I don't mind paying to keep that little bit of steak that I do eat sustainable. If the market also has real (ala Polyface in Omnivore's Dilemma) free range chicken as well, that would be fantastic.
Thanks a lot! | |

| From NARAL: Hi -
I'm pretty angry that the House passed an anti-choice measure that would essentially eliminate insurance coverage for abortion in the new system. Health reform is important, but no one should lose coverage in the new system.
I just signed a petition to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asking him to stand strong against a similar attack in the Senate. Will you add your name? The deadline is 12 noon (EST) on Friday, November 13.

| So, I'm ready to chop off roughly 14 inches of hair. This is obviously a big deal for me, and I want to make sure I go to a hairdresser that will really be able to give me what I want in terms of do (although nice service and a non-outrageous price would be cool too). Do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for someone who will be able to work some magic and create a cool SHORT cut. Maybe a mohawk, but the jury is still out on that. If they are located downtown, that's a plus. I just don't want to end up sitting in a chair with someone who has never cut anything but the hair of 50 year old ladies, and who thinks that "short hair" must mean Janet Reno rather than something like this. Thanks in advance! | |

| I'm curious about how the Health Care Security Ordinance plays out at most lower-end jobs--do most employers (restaurants and the like) just pay $ toward Health San Francisco fees (75% discount) or do many actually give insurance? And how in the world is 75% of these costs anywhere close to the required $1.23/hour expenditure that companies must make toward an employee's healthcare? Anyone? My company has less than 20 people, so it doesn't apply for me, but I'm curious how it works for other people. | |

| Is there anywhere in San Francisco where I could talk to someone in person about joining Americorps?
Their website is confusing.

| I'm looking for a local gynecologist and the several referrals from friends aren't accepting new patients. Palo Alto Medical Foundation lists a Dr. Nicole Wilcox as possibly available. If anyone has a reference for doctors they like in the South Bay (Santa Clara County area), I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks in advance! | |

| Since Proposition D was such a hot topic the past couple of weeks here, I thought it appropriate to post election results here: 428 out of 428 precincts (100.00 %) Votes Percent Yes 31,406 45.91 % No 36,995 54.09 %Source. I'd use variable font sizes and fancy colors to present this information, but I'm not very good at formatting. Sorry. | |

| When I wanted lunch alone around Union Square I used to go to Citizen Cupcake, but now that's gone. I wanted to try the SFMOMA rooftop cafe, but I'll be downtown on a Wednesday, and the museum is closed.
Any recommendations for a place to have lunch alone? Good people watching seems more socially polite than reading, and I'd love to find a new place that's interesting yet mellow.

| My friend and I are looking for some recommendations for either a school or course or trainer that does martial arts for self-defense. Ideally, something female-friendly would be great, but we're not too picky about that. Within five miles of the SOMA area would be the limit for location. Style isn't really that big of a deal either, we're mainly looking for something that is practical, that we can use against creepy types that may not understand the word "shoo!"
Any suggestions for a place with a good reputation? I've already done some digging through Yelp and got a few ideas so far. I'd like to add a few more to the list to look into.
Thanks in advance. | |

| Hi I just started my life in the Bay Area and do not know this area very well yet. Could you recommend me a Russian orthodox church service to sanctify my car against car accidents, thieves and shortage of gasoline? This service is very popular in Moscow but I can not find any respected Sanctifier on a road here in Silicon Valley | |
